Domain 1.0

by Mike Perry

What is it?

Domain is another board game. Perfect for those of you like me that are getting bored with Othello, and need a changed.

The goal of Domain is to end up with more pieces than your opponent. Each player takes turns, moving one of their existing tiles and trying to capture enemy tiles. Play continues until there are no moves left, or one player is completely wiped out.

Moving and Capturing

To move a piece, click on it to select it, then click on the square you wish to move it to.
There are two ways to move about on the domain board - cloning and jumping. Cloning happens when you move a piece to an ajoining square, the piece clones to the new space, and leaves the original piece there. Jumping occurs when you jump a piece over a space to its new square, the piece does not create a copy, and the original square becomes empty again.

A move to a red outline would be a clone.
A move to a blue outline would be a jump

Whether jumping or cloning, all enemy pieces next to the new piece will be captured, and changed to your colour.

Before a jump
Afterwards, enemy pieces captured.

Blockers

You can choose to play on a field that has obstacles. Use the "blocker" menu to select the configuration you want. Blockers can be jumped over, but not played on.

Licensing

This program is postcardware. If you like it, keep it completely free of charge. You can copy it around as much as you like, as long as you keep it in its original form, with all the instructions. If you want to encourage me to keep writing free software, drop me a postcard:
